Low-lying states of 119Sb studied from the decay of sup(119m)Te

Description

The electron-capture decay of sup(119m)Te was investigated with an iron-free π√2 β-spectrometer and Ge(Li) detectors. The investigation includes subshell-ratio and γγ angular correlation measurements in addition to conversion-coefficient and γγ coincidence measurements. The level scheme of 119Sb was proposed, which incorporates 13 excited states and 34 transitions. The spin-parities were determined as follows: 270.53 keV 7/2+, 970.91 9/2+, 1048.42 7/2+, 1212.75 9/2+, 1249.78 9/2+, 1366.32 11/2-, 1407.21 11/2+, 2129.83 9/2-, 2226.02 11/2-, 2278.87 13/2-, 2283.78 9/2-, 2360.22 9/2- and 2379.61 (9/2, 13/2)-. The level structure of 51119Sb68 is discussed in comparison with a core-particle coupling calculation. All the levels seen in the decay of sup(119m)Te are correlated with the theoretical levels except for the 970.91 9/2+ level, which has been recently identified as a deformed state. (Auth.)
