Failed Fuel Location by 133Xe Trend in CANDU Reactor

Description

At Third Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant, failed fuel location by delayed neutron scanning has bad effect, this paper interprets the method to locate failed fuel by analyzing online-monitored 133Xe trend of coolant, by which the dwelling time of failed fuel bundle and the coolant loop containing the failed fuel bundle can be determined. By analyzing 133Xe trend during refueling, it can be known that whether failed bundle exits in the refueling channel, and whether failed fuel is discharged. This method has good behavior in the application, by which 5 defect fuel channel were successfully found. (author)
