Determination of Basic Specification Design for 13 MeV AVF Accelerator

Description

This paper will present the method determination of the basic 13 MeV AVF cyclotron's specification design. This is the first step for designing and manufacturing an accelerator. An AVF cyclotron design must meet the requirements to guarantee that the proton energy can reach 13 MeV and magnetic field varies in strength in the azimuthal (beam path) direction to converge the beam in radial and axial directions. With the model of 13 MeV proton, radio frequency is 77.3 MHz and 4 sectors magnet cyclotron, the results of the specification's cyclotron are average magnet field from 1.267 T to 1.285 T with extraction radius at 0,407m; hill field is 1.92 T valley field is 0.831 Tesla and the value of energy gain per acceleration gap is 156.5 KeV.
