Crystal structures of SbCl5, VCl4, and VOCl3

Description
The crystal structure is determined for the first time for VCl4 and refined for SbCl5 and VOCl3 by monocrystal X-ray diffraction. Crystalline SbCl5, VCl4, and VOCl3 have molecular structures. A VCl4 molecule, being an almost regular tetrahedron, is characterized by an averaged V-Cl distance of 2.130(1) A. The V-O and V-Cl distances in a VOCl3 molecule are 1.570(2) and 2.131(1) A, respectively. The geometric parameters of the molecules are compared to the data obtained using gas electron diffraction

Кристаллическое строение впервые определено для VCl4 и уточнено для SbCl5 и VОСl3 рентгеноструктурным исследованием монокристаллов. Кристаллические SbCl5, VCl4 и VОСl3 имеют молекулярное строение. Молекула VCl4 в виде почти правильного тетраэдра характеризуется усредненным расстоянием V-Cl 2.130(1) А. В молекуле VОСl3 расстояния V-O и V-Cl составляют 1.570(2) и 2.131(1) А соответственно.
