Crystal structure of the SmCo9Si4 compound

Description
The crystal structure of a new compound SmCo9Si4 was investigated by X-ray powder diffraction using the Rietveld method. The compound crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I4/mcm (No. 140) with the Ce2Ni17Si9 structure type and cell parameters a=7.7858(1) A, c=11.5054(2) A, z=4 and Dcalc.=7.553 g/cm3
