Lanthanide ion complexing with l-α-methyl-β-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-alanine and its analytical application

Description
The complex formation of lanthanide ions with 1-α-methyl-β-(3, 4-dihydroxyphenyl)-alanine has been examined spectrometrically and fluorometrically. Complexes with a ratio of Ln:R=1:3 are formed in weakly alkaline media. A method is suggested of determining terbium in lanthanide oxides with a limit of detection of 5x10-6% which is based on measuring the terbium complex luminescence. The standard deviation is not greater than 6.5%
