Utilization of the uncertainty analysis option of FRAPCON-2 computer code for determining a conservative model for Angra-1 reloads
Description
An uncertainty analysis option has been developed for the steady-state fuel rod behaviour code FRAPCON-2, so that a user may obtain estimates of the uncertainty in calculated code outputs due to uncertainties in models, material property correlations, and code input data. The uncertainty analysis calculations are based on the response surface method. An uncertainty study was performed to a typical Angra-1 reload fuel rod. The results were then compared with the generated ones by the FRAPCON-2 evaluation models (EM). The comparisons showed that the EM predictions are conservative enough to be used in the Angra-1 reloads analysis. (Author)

O codigo de computadores FRAPCON-2 apresenta uma opcao que permite ao usuario obter estimativas de incertezas em variaveis de saida do programa, em funcao de incertezas inerentes a dados de entrada, e correlacoes de propriedades materiais e a modeloos existentes no codigo. Esse estudo, denominado analise de incertezas, e baseado no metodo de superficie resposta. Um estudo de incertezas foi realizado para uma barra de combustivel tipica da 10 recarga de Angra-1. Os resultados obtidos foram entao comparados aos gerados pelos modelos conservativos (EM) existentes no codigo FRAPCON-2. As comparacoes mostraram que os modelos EM sao suficientemente conservativos, podendo ser utilizados nas analises de recargas de Angra-1. (Autor)Additional details
