Description
Radial velocities are presented for 157 O-F8 stars in the region of the South Galactic Pole. Statistical analysis of these velocities suggests that 22 per cent of the A stars and 14 per cent of the F stars have variable velocities. The rms dispersion of the mean radial velocity for the constant stars in the sample, due solely to the dispersion in space motions, is found to be 10.4 km s-1 for the A stars and 11.4 km s-1 for the F stars, in good agreement with other studies at both the SGP and the NGP.
