Description

Prostate cancer research is advancing due to increased incidence and longer life expectancy. Enhanced diagnostics and therapies are essential for improving patient quality of life. Tumor cells depend on amino acids for growth, making amino acid-based imaging probes (like MDM) a promising tool for targeted detection. This study is the first to evaluate Tc-99m MDM in prostate cancer patients. While some patients with high Gleason scores exhibited uptake, overall performance in amino acid imaging was poor. There is a growing need for additional research with larger patient cohorts in the field of radionuclide imaging
