Journey in the Anthropocene: this new era to which we are the heroes

Mankind has become with time the main geologic force on the Earth: men have changed the atmosphere chemistry and the climate, they have move more earth than all rivers together, they are changing the pH of oceans, they are eliminating the species of our biosphere and so on. This is the reason why the authors have named 'Anthropocene' this brief era characterized by a formidable acceleration of the environment transformation due to human activities. In this book, the authors raise a fundamental question: are we going to be the guardians of the Earth or the powerless spectators of our omnipotence? (J.S.)
