Description

The microscopic structure of the neutron-rich Cr nuclei around N = 40 is investigated using spherical shell-model calculations. The calculations reproduce well the known energy levels for Cr nuclei, and predict the collectivity around neutron number N = 40. The calculated B(E2;21+→01+) systematics show the strong collectivity around N = 40. The sudden drop of the 9/21+ from 55Cr to 59Cr and the low-lying 02+ states around N = 40 are discussed. We predict a new band built on the 02+ state in 64Cr with N = 40.
