Radiative moderation of an electron beam in a silicon monocrystal
Description
The attenuation due to radiative moderation of a beam of electrons with momenta approximately 26.6 GeV/c and angular spread approximately +-1 mrad by an oriented silicon monocrystal of 0.34 radiation length thickness is measured. Electron beams with lower momenta approximately 7.5-17.5 GeV/c are obtained. A strong orientation dependence of the beam intensity is observed. The experimental results can be described satisfactorily by the well known formulas for bremsstrahlung in moncrystal
