Copernicus and Ariel V observations of Hercules X-1
Description
Copernicus and Ariel V X-ray observations of Her X-1 are presented. An observation of low-intensity emission during the 'offstate' is discussed. Measurements of the eclipse duration are given, together with Doppler-shift-derived estimates of the phase zero of the binary orbit and a new value for the 1.24-s pulsation period. (author)
