Technique and apparatus for measuring the number and brightness of multielectron scintillations in an image converter

Methods and equipment are described for measurement of the number and brightness of multielectron scintillations in image converters with background illumination of the input photocathode and in darkness. The amplitudes of scintillations are expressed in terms of the number of electrons from the input photocathode, and for this purpose a simplified procedure is proposed for estimating the average amplitude of the scintillations from single electrons emitted by the input photocathode of the image converter (i.c.)
