Description
An instrument to detect the temperature and flow-rate of the liquid metal current of a coolant fluid sample from adjacent sub-assemblies of a liquid metal-cooled nuclear reactor is described. It includes three thermocouple hot junctions mounted in series, each intended for exposure to a sample-current from a single sub-assembly, electromagnetic coils being mounted around an induction core which detects variations in the liquid metal flow-rate by deformation of the lines of flux. The instrument may also include a thermocouple to detect the mean temperature of the sample-current of coolant fluid from several sources, the result being that the temperature of the coolant fluid current in a sub-assembly may be inferred from the three temperature readings associated with this sub-assembly
Abstract (French)
On presente un instrument de detection de la temperature et du debit de courant de metal liquide d'un echantillon de fluide de refroidissement provenant de sous-ensembles adjacents d'un reacteur nucleaire refroidi par un metal liquide. Il comprend trois jonctions chaudes de thermocouple montees en serie, chaque jonction chaude etant destinee a etre exposee a un courant echantillon provenant d'un seul sous-ensemble, des enroulements electromagnetiques etant disposes autour d'un noyau d'induction destine a detecter des variations dans le debit de metal liquide, par deformation des lignes de flux. L'instrument peut aussi comprendre un thermocouple destine a detecter la temperature moyenne du courant echantillon de fluide de refroidissement provenant de plusieurs sources, si bien que la temperature du courant de fluide de refroidissement dans un sous-ensemble peut etre deduite des trois lectures de temperature associees a ce sous-ensembleFiles
