Confinement with Gaussian gluon fields
Description
A model of the QCD vacuum structure and quark confinement is usually described by its assumption about the dominant gluon field configuration in the ground state and by its momentum-scale dependence. A phenomenological model of the QCD vacuum is presented, which describes a linearly rising variational energy of a quark antiquark pair. In the model the coupling constant is treated perturbatively, while rather specific assumptions are made about the gluon field configuration. It is also speculated about quasi hadrons above the color deconfinement temperature due to non-Debye forces. (author) 1 ref., 1 fig
