Transfer of experimental data on the brain reaction to irradiation to humans
Description
Investigated is irradiation effect of brain various dose rates. The experiments were carried out on domestic pigs. The irradiation effect was estimated by direct brain response and delayed morphological changes in cortex, white substance, hypothalamus, medulla and cerebellum. Hemisphere asymmetry, exposed to various single dose rates, was noted. The most pronounced changes were after single irradiation at 10g0 rad dose rate, the least ones - practically single - after classical fractionation at 4000 rad dose rate. The data obtained confirm, that the doses used in clinical practice cause the changes of brain stroma only resembling dystrophic changes
