TMR-86 - experimental facility for tomographic imaging of biological structures using magnetic resonance

  • 1. Slovenska Akademia Vied, Bratislava (Czechoslovakia). Ustav Merania a Meracej Techniky

Description

NMR-based experimental facility TMR-86 was developed showing that basic tomographic methods have been mastered. It allows generating image data from a selected plane of biological samples or from the human hand. The flexibility of the imaging system offers a wide range of variability of imaging conditions. The maximum matrix size is 128x128 pixels with 256 brightness levels. The experimental tomographic facility is mainly applied in basic research in testing fast planar tomographic methods. The modular design of the facility and of its program algorithms allows flexible implementation of the latest tomographic techniques and the testing of their contribution to the density and relaxation sensitivity of biological structure scanning.
