The separated-sector cyclotron : the K=600 spectrometer

The spectrometer magnets of the National Accelerator Centre have now all been assembled and tested, the H and K trim-coils have been mounted on the dipoles, and the vacuum chambers have been installed and vacuum-tested. Extensive magnetic field measurements have also now been completed, and certain shims were adjusted to provide NMR measurements. Considerable effort has been put into developing suitable software to make the measured field maps available to the RAYTRACE and TRACK programs, to overlap measured fields, and to add calculated trim-coil fields. The positions of the focal planes for different modes of operation have been established using this software and the detector vacuum chamber has now been finalized. 5 figs
