Gamma-scintigraphy and computer tomography of the pancreas

Description
The effectiveness of a complex use of radioisotope scintigraphy and computer tomography when determining pathological changes in the pancreas is studied. 27 patients with diseases of the pancreas have been examined. Using separately both methods the condition of the pancreas has been correctly evaluated in 22 patients, the results of examination of 19 patients being in good agreement. The comparison of scintigraphy and computer tomography data makes it possible to provide exact information on the condition of the pancreas in 3 patients. Thus with a complex use of both methods a correct diagnosis has been made in 25 patients. It has been found that scintigraphy and computer tomography are mutually complementary
