Nuclear power versus uranium resources. Uranium industry in the Czech Republic

Creators

  • 1. Ministry of Industry and Trade, Prague (Czech Republic)

Description

Based on a governmental decision, uranium mining in the Czech Republic should eventually be abandoned completely. This is associated with a lot of tedious and expensive land reclamation work, particularly because solution mining was mostly applied and large areas of land, with precious ground water, remain heavily polluted with sulfuric acid. The past, present and future situation is described in detail. (P.A.)
