Some results of an experimental investigation of energy dissipation in a mixing chamber of MHD generator

Description

Two types of steam-water injectors differing from one another by method of supplying cold liquid are investigated. The flux pulse has been directly measured at the input and output of the mixing chamber for determining the energy loss in the injector caused by interaction of the two-phase flux with the chamber surface. A generalized dependence of the coefficient characterizing the dissiative losses sigmasub(kc) has been obtained. The data on the mean volumetric steam content of the flux at the output of the mixing chamber are presented. Conclusions are drawn that a circular delivery of the cold liquid in the injector is more preferable than a jet supply, since its applying decreases the dissipative losses. At the regimes close to stalling sigmasub(kc) has a maximum and reaches 0.45/0.5; the mean volumetric steam content of the flux at the output of the mixing chamber reaches the least values 0.23/0.45. No essential difference in the characteristics of the mixing chamber is observed at the angles of its narrowing 12 and 24 deg
