Finite representations of the unitary group and their applications in many-body physics

Creators

Description

The definition and algebraic properties of certain square symbols appearing in the finite irreducible representations of the group U(n) are given. This concept is linked to properties of the symmetric group S(N) and its representations. It is claimed that the recent developments of the technique of S(N) for many-body physics are closely related to the properties of these square symbols. 6 references
