Macroscopic and microscopic model analyses of the elastic and inelastic scattering of 1.04 GeV protons by 12C

  • 1. Inst. des Sciences Nucleaires, Grenoble-1 Univ., 38 (France)

Description

Dirac and Schroedinger coupled-channel calculations and microscopic DWBA calculations have been performed to analyze cross-sections and power data for elastic and inelastic scatterings of 1.04 GeV protons from some low-lying states in 12C. Fairly good agreement between the microscopic DWBA calculations and the data has been obtained. Coupled-channel collective model calculations have given better agreement with the data and the advantage of the Dirac formalism compared to the classical Schroedinger one has been established also for these high energy but limited data. Deformation parameters obtained through these analyses are comparable with those obtained previously at lower incident energies. (authors)
