Thermal buffer made of He I at constant volume
- 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Grenoble, 38 (France). Dept. de Recherche Fondamentale
Description
The work was carried out as part of the TORE SUPRA tokamak construction programme. Its aim was to solve the problem of non-compatibility between the steady operation of the helium refrigerator and the pulsed operation of the tokamak. A solution was investigated using thermal buffer filled with helium and operating at a constant volume at approx.= 4.5 K. To calculate the behaviour of the thermal buffer, a mathematical model is proposed consistent with experimental results. (author)
