EPRI finds the reliability of US diesel generators is 'excellent'

Description
A recent US survey of emergency diesel generator reliability has found a failure rate of 1.4 per cent for both tests and unplanned demands, and 2.2 per cent for unplanned demands over the three years 1983-1985. According to EPRI, who conducted the survey there is little opportunity for improvement in reliability. (author)
