The ADONIS Project: a new type of neutron source

Description

The ADONIS Project aims to investigate the design, development, and feasibility of a neutron source based on a primary spallation target and a secondary multiplicative fission target. The design copes with maximization and operational flexibility in a cost-effective way. The flexibility includes the optimization of neutronic performance to extend the scope of applications of such neutron sources. The state-of-the-art and the progress of this research area at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre SCK-CEN for 1995 are given
