Effect of the size of cold neutron source on neutron fluence rate at exit of cold neutron guides

Description
Effect of the size of cold neutron source on neutron fluence rate at exit of guide system in China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR) is studied with Monte-Carlo simulation technique and coincident results are obtained from different software, which may provide bases for design on the size of cold neutron source from the view point of requirement by neutron guides. For the 58Ni guide and supermirror guide with m=2, the size of φ18 cm x 30 cm and φ22 cm x 36 cm, respectively, is needed to saturate both integral neutron fluence rate and fluence rate at wavelength of 2 nm
