On the shell effect role in nucleus fission by fast protons
Description
Analysis of the fission cross sections and the mass distributions of the fission products resulting from collisions of fast particles with the nuclei shows that the nuclear fission of nuclei near Pb, as well as of lighter nuclei, proceeds at such high excitation energies, that the shell effects disappear and the statistical approach in applicable to the description
