Design criteria of the REMISE (Inherently Safe Modular Reactor)
- 1. Comision Nacional de Energia Atomica, San Carlos de Bariloche (Argentina)
Description
The main characteristics of the low power nuclear reactor REMISE are presented. The design criteria adopted for this advanced reactor are focused on low capital cost and enhanced safety. It is shown that such objectives are accomplished by locating each fuel element in a pressure tube thermo hydraulically independent from the rest. The refrigerant circulates by natural convection between the fuel element and an individual steam generator. Also presented are the value of the main variables and the calculation from which they were obtained. (author)
