Superconducting linear accelerator for nuclear power installation

  • 1. Moscow Radiotechnical Institute of RAS, Moscow (Russian Federation)

Description

The design of superconducting linear accelerator is presented as a driver of nuclear power installations of a new generation - accelerator driven systems (ADS). The purpose of the research is the development of a CW mode 1 GeV, 30 mA proton superconducting linear accelerator. Superconducting cavities are used in the main part of the accelerator from 50 MeV up to 1 GeV. The main parameters used in this design are discussed. Beam dynamic simulation results are presented.
