Temperature dependence of the extraction behaviour of uranium at macro concentrations with N,N-dihexyl octanamide
- 1. Radiochemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
Distribution behaviour of U(VI) at 3M HNO3 with 1M solution of N,N-dihexyl octanamide (DHOA) in n-dodecane using macro concentrations of metal ion (9.86 g/l to 295.66 g/l) was investigated. In view of the elevated temperature encountered in the co-extraction cycle of PUREX process these studies were carried out at 25 degC, 35 degC and 45 degC. It was observed that DU decreased with increase in U loading as well as with increase of temperature. Two phase reaction was found to be exothermic in nature. (author)
