Description

The problem of energy impresses us more in its significance as the situation is unfolded. It is now a common sense for us not to be able to consume petroleum as we please; its world supplies are in potential shortage. The present volume is intended to deepen popular understanding of energy problem, leading to a better energy administration. In part 1, the energy problem is reviewed in civilization perspective, its position being expounded accordingly. In part 2, the current world energy situation, tending more to stringency, is analyzed. Relying almost 100% on foreign energy resources, Japan must see the frends and act in accord. In part 3, the directions of energy policy to be followed under the above circumstances are envisaged in concrete form. (J.P.N.)
