Description
Conventional MRI can be insufficient to depict certain pathologies of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)-filled spaces. 3-D T2-weighted sequences and phase-contrast imaging have a high sensitivity for pathologies of the CSF-filled spaces, but are susceptible to artifacts in some cases. Magnetic resonance (MR) cisternography directly depicts the connection between CSF-filled spaces. (orig.)

Bei bestimmten Fragestellungen, die Pathologien des Liquorraums betreffen, kann die konventionelle MRT-Bildgebung an ihre Grenzen stossen. Duennschichtige 3-D-T2-Sequenzen und die Phasenkontrastbildgebung koennen die Liquorraeume und den Liquorfluss mit hoher Aufloesung darstellen, sind aber zum Teil anfaellig fuer Artefakte. Die Magnetresonanz(MR)-Zisternographie erlaubt die genaue Darstellung des Liquorraums und stellt Verbindungen einzelner Kompartimente direkt dar. (orig.)Additional details
