Neutronics analysis of BWR partial scrams with boron injection
Description
This article summarizes a reactor neutronics analysis for a transient where some number of control rods do not insert. The analysis is applicable to a typical BWR-4 plant. It focuses on the power distribution in the core and on reactor criticality both with and without standby liquid boron injection. The work is directed towards providing better guidance to the operator regarding boron injection during partial control rod insertion incidents in boiling water reactors
