Energy transition. New ideas for the Planet: A great interview, To impulse energy transition, To store and to transport energy, To consume less and better, To move with a new energy

Description

In an interview, the French State Secretary to the Minister of Energy Transition discusses how to transform the financial system to take the climate risk into account. Then, a set of articles addresses various aspects and scales related to the impulse to energy transition: at the level of territories (synergies between urban and rural, share of engineering knowledge), in terms of innovation (promising aspects of de-carbonated energies), of re-industrialisation (case of the PACA region which bets on diversification), of mobilisation of actors (local public actors and NGOs). Another set of articles describe various cases of production of green energy: geothermal energy (for the supply of districts of Bordeaux, exploitation of the Rennes metro energy), renewable gas (a high potential market), offshore wind energy (the Dieppe-Le Treport wind farm), photovoltaic energy (self-consumption applied by mass distribution retailers), and renovation. The next set addresses energy storage and transport: electricity storage, heat networks, smart grids, interconnection between France and the UK through the tunnel, hydrogen storage in Dunkirk subsoil. The next set of articles describes how to consume less and better in public buildings, in industrial sites, in supermarkets, in shops, and in offices. The last set addresses mobility and transport: evolution of roads, use of overhead lines for lorries, development of new high-speed trains, optimisation of lorry circulation, development of hydrogen-fuelled cars and trains
