Metastatic spreading of cancer to the vasular coat of the eye
Description
The author has summed up his experience in the diagnosis and radiation therapy of 6 patients with breast cancer (5) and lung cancer metastases to the vascular coat of the eye. The initial and leading symptoms are increasing impairment of vision. In 3 patients metastases to the eye developed against a background of tumor generalization. Gamma-therapy at a total focal dose of 30 Gy within 10 days of irradiation improved vision in 4 patients, but didn't increase lifespan of the patients
