Angular momentum and the temperature-dependence of ion-molecule reactions
- 1. Nebraska Univ., Lincoln (USA). Dept. of Chemistry
Description
All experimental studies to date have inseparably involved the formation and lifetimes of the collision complex of the ion-molecule reaction, and the details of the deactivating collision. In order to gain insight into the nature of the complex and its reflection of the formation process, a simplified model has been developed. This is based on a retention of the peculiar characteristics of ion-molecule collisions, namely the dominance of collisions with large angular momentum. The model is discussed. (U.K.)
