Calculation of a cylindrical microwave ion source magnetic system with tangential rare-earth magnets

Description
Analytic method is presented and results of calculating a magnetic system produced by an arbitrary number of azimuth-magnetized prismatic permanent magnets of rare earth elements mounted on a cylindric case of nonmagnetic material, are presented. It is shown that such structures can be used in SHF ion sources as systems of gas-discharge parietal plasma confinement. Solutions for scalar magnetic potential, intensity vector flux, magnetic field intensity components are obtained in the form of a series of harmonic functions convenient for practical calculations
