The influence of the magnetic field configuration on plasma confinement in the ''Advanced Stellarator'' Wendelstein-7AS is briefly reported on, including discussions on equilibrium and stability, the influence of plasma current in the low-beta (ECH) and high-beta (NBI) cases, and impurity content. 6 refs, 3 figs
