Physico-chemical investigations on direct current arcs using homogeneous magnetic fields
Description
Automatic translation: The influence of magnetic fields on electric arcs has been known since 1821 and their use became very important with the development of plasma physics. From an emission spectroscopic point of view, the application of magnetic fields to the plasma the plasma of a sliding current arc has been investigated in several research institutes since 1964. Homogeneous and inhomogeneous fields are used, the effect of which was investigated simultaneously and independently of each other by Lummerzheim and Nickel, as well as Vukanovic (Yugoslavia) and Petrakiev (Bulgaria) in fundamental studies. The aim of these studies is to achieve an increase in the sensitivity of spectral analytical trace determination by increasing the intensity of the spectral lines, i.e. increasing the anaIysis signal-to-noise level ratio, with a constant sample quantity. The results show that for a number of elements the detection limit can be reduced by one to two orders of magnitude. can be lowered by one to two orders of magnitude; analytical methods, e.g. for the direct trace determination of 6 elements in ultrapure graphites, have already been developed.
Abstract (German)
Files
