Computer simulation of ion-atomic deposition of coatings

  • 1. RAN, Moscos (Russian Federation). Inst. Metallurgii

Description

A computer code GRAD-TIP (Generation of Radiation Defects-Technology of Ion Mixing) to calculate the main parameters of ion beam effect, collision cascades, mass transport and annealing in cascades and to predict thermal stability of coatings is developed. The code allows to choose optimal regimes of coating ion-assistant deposition in dependence on the conditions of coatings operation, technological equipment and the deposition process duration. Test checking of the code for copper-tungsten, copper-molybdenum, copper-tantalum and gold-silicon shows satisfactory agreement between experimental and computation data. 8 refs., 3 figs
