Vortex dynamics in YBa2Cu3O7-x/Y4Ba3O9 multilayers

Description
We have studied the vortex dynamics in a new class of c-axis oriented YBa2Cu3O7-x/Y4Ba3O9 multilayers. The experimental data evidence that the critical current in single YBCO layer and in YBCO/YBO multilayers is supported by different types of vortices. Single YBCO layer films demonstrate an ordinary collective pinning of dense 3D vortex lattice, while magnetic flux bundles in the multilayers behave as an ensemble of separated pancake vortices pinned individually.
