Position transducer without mechanical contact

Description

The position transducer, in the form of a transformer, have a secondary coil made by three groups of smaller coils which are connected in a such way to give three output signals. Each group is subdivided in subgroups which have at least two elementary coils connected in series. When a mobil is deplaced before the elementary coils of a subgroup the output signal of the group changes linearly. This linear variation gives a good accuracy of the measure

Abstract (French)

Le capteur de position, du type a transformateur, comporte un enroulement secondaire constitue par trois groupes de bobines elementaires engendrant trois signaux de sortie distincts. Chacun des groupes est subdivise en sous-groupes comportant chacun au moins deux bobines elementaires connectees electriquement en serie. Lorsqu'un element mobile, dont la position doit etre determinee, se deplace en regard des bobines elementaires d'un sous-groupe, le signal de sortie du groupe correspondant varie de facon sensiblement lineaire. Cette variation sensiblement lineaire permet d'obtenir une bonne precision de mesure. Application a la detection de la position des barres de commande d'un reacteur nucleaire
