Description
This chapter investigates the possibility of correcting an altered reaction of the body with the use of UV radiation. Presents results of a study of the prophylactic effect of UV radiation in relation to the action of the following chemical substances which possess a general toxic effect: salts of lead and its organic compound (tetraethyl lead), aniline, nitrate, chloroform and others. Observes the ability of UV radiation to increase the activity of mitochondrial enzymes. Concludes that the experimental data and accumulated experiences with the prophylactic use of UV radiation have made possible the establishment of a widely available system which can be used where the population is exposed to environmental chemicals under conditions where a UV deficit exists
