Excitation of isovector modes in deep inelastic transfer reactions
Description
The relaxation of the neutron-excess degree of freedom due to the excitation of isovector modes at the instant of formation of a double nuclear system is considered. Estimates are obtained for the contributions of real isovector phonons to the dispersion of the charge distributions for a fixed mass asymmetry of the products of deep inelastic transfer reactions as a function of the configuration of the double system at the instant that it breaks up. The excitation of isovector phonons of the binary system is due to the relaxation of the nonequilibrium fluctuation of the isovector density which is produced at the instant that the colliding nuclei come into contact
