Control of pre-homogenization piles with on-line neutronic analyzer at the Saint-Pierre-La-Cour Lafarge cement company
Description
The quality control of pre-homogenization in heterogeneous quarries can lead to some difficulties. In this paper, the author explains how the installation of a Gamma-Metrics on-line neutronic analyzer has allowed to solve this kind of problem at the Saint-Pierre-La-Cour (France) Lafarge cement company. This method has permitted to obtain a significant improvement of the crude and clinker regularity in comparison with the X-ray fluorescence analyzer previously used. This apparatus is the first one used for this kind of application at the industrial scale. (J.S.)
