Increasing the dynamic range of neutron-gamma discrimination by gain switching

The dynamic range of a neutron-gamma discriminator used in neutron time-of-flight experiments is increased by an order of magnitude by temporarily reducing the gain for otherwise saturating pulses. (orig.)
