Nonlinear effects in the excitation of a magnetic field in a highly ionized plasma

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Vysokikh Temperatur

Description

The problem of a nonlinear stabilization of the magnetic field growth at the development of the magneto-thermal instability of an inhomogeneous nuclear plasma is considered analytically. It was supposed that the excitation of the magnetic field was caused by the influence of thermal e.m.f. in the inhomogeneous plasma. It is shown that the main nonlinear effect, restricting the build-up of magnetic perturbations is the dissipation of the inhomogeneity of the plasma temperature. The maximum value of the excited magnetic field is obtained
