Fabrication, aging behavior and fatigue of transformation toughened Y-TZP(A) and Ce-TZP materials
Description
Two central points were studied in this work, i.e. the development and the optimization as well as the thermal aging behavior and the fatigue properties of the transformation toughened ZrO2 ceramics. Both the chemical composition such as the Y2O3 (2-3 mol%), CeO2 (9 mol%) as well as Al2O3 (20-40 wt%) contents and the processing parameters (sintering and HIPing) were systematically varied in order to control the microstructures of the sintered products. Particularly the effects of the grain size, the critical flaw size, and their distributions and the stress induced phase transformation of ZrO2 were investigated. (orig.)

In dieser Arbeit wurden umwandlungsverstaerkte, ZrO2-haltige Keramiken im System Y-TZP(A) und Ce-TZP mit systematischer Variation von Gefuegeparametern wie z.B. Korngroesse, Fehlergroesse, deren Verteilung und vor allem des Potentials der spannungsinduzierten t-m Umwandlung (Ausmass sowie Form und Groesse der Umwandlungszone) hergestellt. Diese Werkstoffe wurden bzgl. der Gefuege, des spannungsinduzierten t-m Umwandlungsverhaltens sowie ihrer Einfluesse auf die mechanischen Eigenschaften charakterisiert. Weiterhin wurde das Degradationsverhalten der erreichten mechanischen Eigenschaften unter langzeitiger thermischer oder mechanischer Beanspruchung untersucht. (orig.)
